Alexei Marinat – 85

One of the most representative prose writers and dramatisits of the post-war period, the author of the novels „Face to the battle”, „The footprints on the treshold”, „The hot springs”, „The messengers”, the plays „Stop the planet!”, „Campanella, where are you?”, „May love”, „The men’s courage”, and the author of numerous collections of novels, only after 1990 he managed to publish two exceptional books of memoirs – „The world and I” and „The travellers around the man”, the authentic and sorrowfull documents about the writer’s stay in Siberian GULAG for the time of seven years. By means of these books Marinat becomes the Moldovan Soljenitsin.
