Recently deputy editor-in-chief Victor Voscoboinic had a conversation with the General Manager of the State enterprise “Moldova’s railroad” Miron Gagauz. What are we interested in? It is enough to say that annual budget of the enterprise is more than one and a half billion lei, during the last eight years the volume of rail cargo transport has been stabilized at the level of 12 million tons yearly, and passenger traffic – more than five million people.

“In Moldova the railroad serves the example of the fact that the state can be an effective market owner, capable to have a big responsible business with social direction in a long-term perspective, ¬– accentuated Miron Gagauz, – Rail transport still prevails in mass cargo transport at long distances, it remains one of the cheapest and the most available for passengers’ travels.”
