Ukraine raises the price for energy for Moldova.

The UkrInterEnergo enterprise increased its price for energy, exported to Moldova, by 3.3% up to $0.031 per 1 kWh in August.

In June UkrInterEnergo and the Energocom Moldovan state enterprise agreed on the monthly increment of the energy price at $0.001 per 1kWh.

Moldova remains one of the largest consumers of the Ukrainian energy. By the beginning of August Ukraine exported more than 6.7 billion kWh to Moldova - by 10.8% more than a year ago. One fourth of Ukraine's total energy exports 1.63 billion (+27.8%) fell on Moldova.

Before July Ukraine charged $0.027 per 1kWh from Moldova, but in July the price increased by $0.03 cents and it will increase monthly by 0.1 cent until it reaches Ukraine's internal energy tariff.

According to the wholesale energy market operator in the person of the Energorynok state enterprise, the wholesale energy price at the Ukrainian internal market was equal to $0.048 kWh from August 1 to 12.

Moldova can cover only one third of its energy demand. The Moldovan regional power station, which is the largest energy enterprise in Moldova, is controlled by the Transnistria powers and its owner in the person of Inter RAO EES does not wish to sell energy to Moldova cheaper than for $0.048.
