Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Vlad Filat today signed an agreement on financing between the Moldovan government and the European Commission on a programme on support of the justice sector reform, according to the cabinet's communication and press relations department. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Head of the European Union Delegation in Moldova Dirk Schuebel. The agreement provides for the earmarking of 10 million euros for the programme on support for the justice sector reform, as well as preparing this sector for assimilating the next budgetary assistance worth 52.2 million euros. Within this programme, four important projects will be financed for a three-year period: 1) 2.8 million euros for coordinating the justice reform and implementing the justice reform strategy; 2) 3 million euros for enhancing the efficiency, responsibility and transparency of law courts in Moldova; 3) 2 million euros for ensuring the process preceding the trial; 4) 2 million euros for backing the execution, probation and rehabilitation system in Moldova Among the basic institutions that benefit from this agreement, there are, first of all, the law courts of all the levels, as well as the entire spectrum of juridical institutions from the execution, probation and rehabilitation system. Vlad Filat thanked also for a programme on budgetary support for the health sector, which is aimed at financing the reform in the health area, especially the implementation of the national health policy and actions provided for in a 2008-2017 strategy of developing the health system. The overall value of the programme on budgetary support for health is 46.6 million euro. The last installment amounting to 4,475.517 million euros was transferred in April 2012. The prime minister also referred to a transfer of the last 30-million-euros-worth installment within the Macro-financing Assistance. This money is meant for backing the balance of payments and beef up the security of the Moldova's currency reserves, in order to overcome the consequences of the financial crisis. This assistance represents also an additional support for the sources allocated by international financial institutions and bilateral donors for assistance to implement the Stabilization and Economic Recovery Programme for 2009-2011. The budget earmarked to this end for 2010-2012 is 90 million euros.
